The purpose of this blog:  Taking notes while reading the Bible slows me down, helps me focus and  forces me to examine details. Making it public encourages me to research  names and places and gives me accountability to readers, imagined or  actual.
Structure:  I am loosely following a daily Bible reading plan that includes both  Old Testament (chronologically) and New Testament readings. At the  beginning, I tried to include all those readings, but with time I have  found it more beneficial to concentrate on one covenant at a time.  Though it was designed to complete in a year, at this date (12/3/2010),  I anticipate it will take about 3-1/2 years to finish the reading  and notes. 
Version:  For this reading I am using the New Revised Version. Using this  unfamiliar and modern English version has enabled me to see familiar  verses in a new light and with new understanding. For clarification, I  occasionally consult other versions.
