On a Clear Day (Movie)

Friday evening, May 23, 2008.
We borrowed this movie from the library just by chance; both Bill and I really enjoyed it.

It's about a man who loses his job to what I think is a corporate takeover. It wasn't real clear exactly why. He handles this loss -- and, without realizing it, the loss also of a son years before – by deciding to swim the English channel.

Of course I liked it because it's about relationships – this time between a man and his son. The man and his wife also have a healthy relationship, which is refreshing. I didn't know the actors, though a couple looked a little familiar – probably because I've seen them in other British movies. Their performances, I thought, were outstanding, even powerful.

It's rated PG-13. There is some off-color language, but not at all predominant, because right now I don't remember it. There's also brief (about 3 seconds) male nudity. I'd rate the movie a 9 out of 10 for making you laugh and feeling really good after it's over. Of course, I am a pushover for British entertainment. http://www.iconmovies.co.uk/onaclearday/
