Ezekiel 35

1-15 Judgment on Mount Seir

1-2 Ezekiel to set his face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it. Mount Seir is another name for Edom, where descendants of Esau settled. See Genesis 36:1-8.

3-5 I am against you and will desolate you because you “cherished” an ancient grudge against Israel and did not come to their aid.

6-9 Because you did not hate bloodshed, it will follow you; your mountains will be filled with your slain. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.

10-11 Because you wanted to take possession of two nations (Israel and Judah?) because of anger and envy, even though God was there, I will judge you.

12-15 I have heard your abuse, seen your arrogance, your rejoicing over the desolation of Israel. You shall be desolate – all Edom – and they shall know that I am the LORD.
