Ezekiel 42

1-20 The Holy Chambers and the Outer Wall

1-10a The man leads Ezekiel to the outer court, to chambers opposite the temple yard and building on the north and measures the building, with three stories of chambers, passageway and outer court.

10b-12 Description of chambers on the south, similar to those on the north, and the entrances.

13-14 The man explains to Ezekiel that the north and south chambers are where the priests will eat the grain, sin and guilt offerings. They will change their garments before they leave the holy place to go to the outer court, the area open to the people.

15-20 He finishes measuring the temple then leads Ezekiel out of the gate and measures the outside of the temple area, 500 cubits long and 500 cubits wide, “to make a separation between the holy and the common.”
